Netscape 4 layouts, Dreamweaver, and ethics
Updated the list of Netscape 4.x CSS templates with a bunch from the CSS Colouring Book.
Been playing around with Dreamweaver MX, which will replace my favourite workhorse, HomeSite. The program is a great improvement over Dreamweaver 4, with its XHTML and improved CSS support, but for hand-coders, its a big program that lacks HomeSite’s grace. Nevertheless it is a preview release, so you can suggest changes to it. Also, just found a good tips site about the program—which offered solutions to some of my complaints.
I’m not normally a fan of headline grabbing services, but I like Daily Rotation’s selection of technology headlines enough to give it a whirl.
One thing journalists are always struggling with is the matter of ethics. The World Press Institute is creating a Web-based forum to discuss the ethical issues that arise on a seemingly daily basis. A serious—both in tone and topic—undertaking.
Let’s hope that as the CBC struggles to redefine itself, its strong ethical stance doesn’t go the way of shows like This Morning.
