Rebuilding with, and without, CSS

Christopher Schmitt explains how to change table-based sites into CSS-based ones, using Digital Web as an example. Although the results aren’t pixel perfect (and in fact the navigation is a bit off), the techniques he uses are excellent.

Using Web widgets” is another good tutorial from IBM’s always interesting developerWorks site. The comprehensive article offers some good tips on how best to use form elements.

The new Yahoo homepage was unveiled at the dot-com address yesterday (the dot-ca still retains the old look). Unfortunately the new page is invalid HTML still, and relies to heavily on the font element. Yahoo has invited feedback on the new page, so if you think it should be done in valid HTML…
