CSS filters; better headings; WSJ stable

Kevin Smith has done a tremendous amount of organizational work to clarify where all the various CSS “hacks” work. While other sites are listed from it, his CSS Filters page will likely become my one-stop hack shop.

Coincidentally, the creation of this resource comes as another is seeking a new caretaker.

Meanwhile Joe Clark is proposing the creation nicer heading styles. The resulting CSS would be publicly in an attempt to rid the world “20-point Times Bold headings.” Great service that I will likely help out once the move is done.

The WSJ Online’s founding publisher — Neil Budde — is resigning, saying that with the site’s now a fairly stable business. That’s right: an online news site charging for content can work. Unfortunately, it looks like Time Inc. thinks this can only work behind the iron wall of its sister company, AOL.
