Bell Globemedia break-up; Rebus Symbols;Nott’s hacks and filters

Earlier reports about the break-up of Bell Globemedia (my employer) are looking truer by the day. Over the weekend, the National Post reported that the company’s board has been dissolved. Could be another interesting Janaury/February here…

Via a couple of Web lists, a new kind of accessible site: a company has developed software that converts the text into icons (called Rebus Symbols) that help those with learning disability understand the content.

Chris Nott, of dithered.com fame, has assembled a massive collection of CSS filters and hacks, organized on the language they are created in (CSS [the table can also show information based on the selected browsers], HTML, and JavaScript). He’s also asking those with older browsers to help fill out the browser support information.

This has now become my default resource for CSS filters.
